In the AGM Bor­ders area, my in­stinct was to stand back and shoot the whole flower bed, but Philip had this ad­vice: “I wouldn’t dis­count the wider view, but I would def­i­nitely not want to do the wide-an­gle shot straight-on. It’s best to get some an­gles. Get down low or use a plant as the main fo­cus, so one plant is near the lens and the rest can fall off into the back­ground”. I used the white hy­drangea as my main fo­cus and al­lowed the pink flow­ers to splash some blurred colour ei­ther side as a fram­ing de­vice.
