I was taken aback at the masses of texture in the gardens in the Glasshouse Landscape area at Wisley. It is created not just by the flowers, but by the grasses, rushes and sedges that overlap each other to form some great abstracts. Philip recommended I capture these abstracts by framing a few in my Df. I started by including just the dark green leaves in the background and the browner plants that had gone to seed in the foreground, but I felt the composition needed some more colour to bring it to life. I put the yellow plant on the right-hand third of the frame to highlight the edge of the frame. The divisions between the plants also fall across the thirds of the frame, strengthening the geometry of the plants in the image.
