Shooting stars

NPhoto - - Nikon Skills -

Something to think about when setting up your exposure is how specular highlights appear. When shooting with a narrow aperture highlights can take on a star-like shape. This is down to the way the light diffracts as it passes through your aperture. The effect is more pronounced at shorter focal lengths. Here shooting at f/16 has resulted in the starshaped effect. At a wider aperture like f/4, the star would be less pronounced.
