Our pro’s verdict…

Tony did a great job with both the preparation and the execution of this shot: the low angle enhances the height of the jump; the choice of shutter speed has given it a strong sense of movement; and the panning has kept the rider pin-sharp – a vital component. The eye contact really engages with the viewer to complete the shot. With the wide-angle lens fitted, this was one situation when predicting where the rider was likely to be, and then manually focusing on that distance, ensured the camera’s AF system wasn’t overstretched at such a close distance. Great result Tony!
