Tak­ing pic­tures of wild­fowl usu­ally means shooting across bod­ies of wa­ter. When the sur­face is calm you can use re­flec­tions cre­atively. Here, Sig­ur­jón is ly­ing flat to pho­to­graph the ei­der duck; not only does this en­able him to throw both the fore­ground and the back­ground out of fo­cus, it also means he can in­clude the duck’s re­flec­tion in the shot.
