09 D500 sensor and Expeed 5
A few Nikon users may be surprised to see the D7500 dropping in resolution from the 24-megapixel resolution used in the D7200 to the 21-megapixel resolution used in the D500. However, although the new sensor has a lower resolution, the difference is unlikely to prove significant in the real world and the advantages could be considerable. The sensor is matched up with Nikon’s latest and most powerful Expeed 5 processor to deliver a raft of performance improvements. These include an extremely high ISO range, 4K UHD video (for the first time in a non-pro Nikon DSLR), and 8fps continuous shooting with a large buffer capacity (see 10, 12 and 17 respectively for more on these).
