Neil says... You’ll al­ways want a good amount of depth of field when shoot­ing cars to en­sure that they’re sharp from front to back. An aper­ture of f/5.6 is no good here; it has to be f/13 or f/16. That said, be care­ful not to over-egg it, as any­thing smaller than f/16 starts to in­tro­duce dif­frac­tion, which soft­ens the im­age; this is a nat­u­ral op­ti­cal phe­nom­e­non that oc­curs when shoot­ing at re­ally nar­row aper­tures.
