Chromi nance and Luminance

-

Chrominance (or colour) noise is especially ugly, as it manifests itself as blotches of multicoloured pixels. Luminance noise is present as greyscale specks of varying contrast. If you’re editing a Raw file then you have the extra option to make outlines look more distinct and noise-free by ticking the Edge Noise Reduction box. You can also reduce the presence of randomly spaced bright pixels in long exposures by ticking the Astro Noise Reduction box below it.
