DX: Tamron 10-24mm f/3.54.5 Di II VC HLD £580/$500 What’s good: Excellent performance and build quality, plus optical stabilization. What’s bad: No good for older DSLRs; no wider than most competing zooms. Our verdict: A well-engineered new lens that works beautifully on recent cameras. FX: Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD £929/$1200 What’s good: Similar to the Nikon 14- 24mm, but adds optical stabilization. What’s bad: Lacks the more extreme maximum angle of the Sigma 12-24mm. Our verdict: For a top-grade FX-format wide zoom, it’s unbeatable value.
