Our Apprentice says…

After around four hours our first bear arrived. Richard told me not to move the Nikon for about five or 10 minutes until the bear had finally settled. Richard said, “They have their head down a lot once they’ve settled because they’re eating a lot of the time.” He told me to wait for them to look up between mouthfuls, or wait until they’re walking around before taking a shot. The bear was in the shade, and, as such, the detail in the fur looks great, with soft light meaning no big contrast between highlights and shadows.
