Richard advised Matt to change his white balance to Custom and set a warmer tone at around 6250 Kelvin. He pointed out that, under the cover of the forest canopy, the shade had a cooler tone than the direct sunlight, and so looked more blue. A higher Kelvin of 6250 counteracted this colour cast by adding yellows and oranges to the final image, helping to make the forest light appear much warmer.
