Wildlife photography mostly re­quires long tele­photo lenses, so you can hide away from wild an­i­mals and shoot them without dis­tur­bance. The Euro­pean brown bear is quite large, though, and the ones Matt and Richard saw weren’t far from the well-placed hides. As such, the 300mm f/2.8 had just the right amount of reach for closer shots.
