Five things to look out for
There’s not a lot to a holster bag, but it’s still worth considering these tips
A perfect fit
Only buy what you need – If you’ve got a compact APS-C DSLR, there’s no point having it bounce around inside a bag designed for a bigger camera.
Staying dry
A holster top flap with a lip to cover its zip will keep rain out, but can slow access. Some designs include a rain cover to protect against heavy rain.
Extra security
A bag with both a shoulder strap and waist support strap will at least keep it anchored more securely to your body.
Strap in
You might not be carrying serious weight in a holster, but a wide shoulder strap will make any load more comfortable, as will a long, supple shoulder pad.
Belt up
Don’t fancy attaching a holster to your belt? Some manufacturers offer utility belts, which you can mount a holster bag, plus other small accessories like lens pouches.
