For taller sub­jects we’re of­ten in­clined to shoot ver­ti­cally, and for flat­ter, wider sub­jects we shoot hor­i­zon­tally. How­ever, some­times land­scapes have so much go­ing on that they lend them­selves to both ori­en­ta­tions. That’s why Nigel also set up his shot hor­i­zon­tally, to in­clude more of the path and a wider view of the re­flec­tion in the lake.
