A CLAS­SIC Amer­i­can rock an­them is Bri­tain’s top sum­mer driv­ing song.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama just edged Bri­tain’s Ka­t­rina and the Waves’ sum­mer hit Walk­ing on Sun­shine for pole po­si­tion in an on­line sur­vey by ve­hi­cle in­for­ma­tion com­pany HPI.

The top 10 is dom­i­nated by songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

The only song recorded in the past 10 years isMr Bright­side by The Killers, at num­ber four.
