DEPRESSION and anxiety not only lead to unprotected sex, smoking and binge drinking, but also dangerous driving. Bridie Scott-Parker, from QUT’s Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety - Queensland (CARRS-Q), says their study of more than 760 young P-plate drivers found anxiety and depression accounted for 8.5 per cent of reported risky driving behaviour such as speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and using a handheld mobile phone.
