THE tender to design the $26 million Palmerston Police Station has been awarded to a Top End architectural firm.

Designing the station will cost $1 million and construction will create 100 jobs.

Ross Tonkin & Associates will design the station, but the site is yet to be finalised.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the location would be announced in the “coming weeks”.

“The Territory Labor Government has listened to community concerns about stopping crime and creating jobs and is taking action by delivering this major infrastructure project years of schedule.”
