WOMEN are encouraged to attend a long lunch with a cause next week.

Menzies School of Health, HealthLAB is a travelling program providing information to the general public about chronic diseases and general health.

The third annual ladies long lunch raises funds for the program.

The afternoon on Friday, May 26 will see a range of professional women entertain and discuss topics with the attendees.

Aboriginal Broadcasting Australia chief executive Dr Donna Odegaard, Menzies School of Health Associate Professor Heidi Smith-Vaughan and comedian, speaker and writer Mary Coustas — who may be better known as the comedic character Effie — will entertain the crowd.

Over the last two lunches more than $150,000 was raised, and organisers hope to continue the fundraising ef- forts. HealthLAB has a focus on youth and indigenous communities, with the aim to educate people about positive lifestyle choices and taking ownership of their health.

Tickets to the Ladies Long Lunch at the Darwin Convention Centre are $175 each and available at www.stickytickets.com.au.
