Aussie film in running for awards
AN AUSTRALIAN film is a frontrunner at the 11th annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
Sweet Country has received three nominations in total, the most nominations ever received by an Australian film.
As well as Best Feature Film, the film also received nominations for Achievement in Cinematography (Warwick Thornton and Dylan River) and Best Screenplay (David Tranter and Steven McGregor).
Films from Australia have received six nominations in total, the equal highest number of nominations for 2017, with films from China and Japan also receiving six nominations each.
The three other Australian film nominees are Jasper Jones, The Seen and Unseen and The Opposition.
Winners will be announced at the 11th APSA ceremony on November 23, which will be held in Brisbane.
