Kind soul

NT News - - OPINION -

RECENTLY at about 6pm on a Saturday night I had the misfortune of losing my wallet at the Casuarina Shopping Centre carpark.

I hadn’t noticed I had lost my wallet. But at about 8pm a very lovely young Chinese man came to my front door to ask if I had lost something.

Imagine my shock and horror at realising I had lost my wallet. The thought of losing your cash and having to cancel cards, licence, Medicare, health fund etc is too daunting for words.

Not only did this young man make the effort to go out of his way on a Saturday night to find my house and return my wallet, but every last dollar and card was in. Of course I was so grateful, but then further demonstrating what a genuine good Samaritan he was he categorically refused to accept a reward.

Thank you Qin Yue Shi and your friend for driving you to my place. It is so reassuring to know that decent, honest folks like you exist. Heather
