Over my time as a nutrition manager, the constant request has been for simple, tasty food that’s also good for you. People also want recipes with ingredients that are easy to find and won’t break the budget.
Reality television shows often have recipes and challenges which are entertaining but unrealistic for people cooking for a family with a limited amount of time.
The good news is the Heart Foundation has released a new collection of ‘Simple and Affordable’ heart healthy recipes for people short on time and watching their budget. All recipes on the website are tasty, have accessible ingredients and are heart healthy.
These recipes also work for any size group, no matter whether you are cooking for one, two or a tribe.
We understand people are busy so the more we can do to help you create a simple, healthy meal in a short amount of time the more likely you will be to use it.
Remember - making healthier food choices will not only protect your heart but improve your overall health and reduce your risk of heart disease.
