Grants to fight suicide

NT News - - NEWS -

THE NT Government has awarded over $200,000 worth of suicide prevention community grants to applicants across the Territory.

Minister for Health Natasha Fyles said the grants would help run community programs and activities that promote suicide awareness throughout the NT.

“These grants will provide communities with the resources to tackle the stigma associated with suicide and promote a message of awareness with a unique local message” she said.

Assistant Minister for Suicide Prevention Ngaree Ah Kit said community engagement and leadership was the key to preventing suicides.

The NT has the highest suicide rate in the country.
