‘Surprise, WE’RE DATING!’

After one false start, things between the long-time friends are getting serious...

NW - - Nw News -

Just last month, Angelina Jolie admitted that she hates being single. Like, hates with a capital H. “I don’t enjoy [it],” the former Mrs Pitt, 42, moaned about no longer having a significant other. “It’s not something I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard.”

Well, it seems like Cupid heard her loud and clear, as we’re told Johnny Depp has since swooped in to save the mother-of-six from eternal singledom!

“Ange doesn’t let a lot of people in, but Johnny is one of the few she likes – and trusts,” a pal tells NW exclusively.

“They’ve known each other for years, and everyone always thought there was an attraction between them. Of course, they were always with other people, but now they’re free to explore whether there’s anything there.”

The daredevil Pirates Of The Caribbean star certainly seems to be more adventurous and Ange’s type than Brad ever was.

In fact, all-american Brad was always the odd one out in Ange’s back catalogue of exes!

“I mean, c’mon... Johnny and Billy Bob [Thornton] are practically cut from the same cloth,” dishes the pal.

Another box Johnny ticks? He’s already in with her

kids. Yep Yep, Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Shiloh, 1 11, Zahara, 12, and twins Knox Kn and Vivienne, nine, already adore a him, having grown clo close to him when he filmed The Th Tourist with their mum bac back in 2009.

Indeed, it was recently claimed that t it was important that Ange Ange’s brood get along with the n next man she seriously dates.

“For An Angelina, the children come firs first, and anyone she dates will have to meet the approval of all six kids, and that’s no mean feat,” a source tells Hollywood Life. “Angelina would like to believe that she will fall in love again one day, and meet her soul mate to grow old with.”

And while it’s early days, she may have found him in Johnny.

“They’ve only told a handful of friends in case it doesn’t end up going anywhere,” a family insider tells NW. “They don’t want others interfering, but they’re really happy together.”

But it won’t be long until the rest of the world finds out they’re an item – if Ange’s plans to have Johnny as her leading man in Cleopatra come to fruition.

The actress recently revealed she was back in discussions to star in the flick, a project she was first attached to in 2014, with Brad, 53, tipped to play the Queen of Egypt’s hubby Mark Antony.

But now that Brad’s sooo oo 2016, Ange wants Johnny nny to take his place.

“She thinks he’s perfect ctc for the role and has already y floated the idea to him over one e of their secret romantic dinner nnner dates,” spills the insider. r.

What’s more, Ange likely kelyly has her fingers crossed that thaat Cleopatra will be the part rt that thatt forces Hollywood to welcome lcoome her back with open arms ms – and hopefully land her another anoother Oscar to go with her Best st Supporting Actress trophy phy for Girl, Interrupted.

“She’s made it clear she’s he’s looking for the script and nd the role that will win her r the Oscar once and for all for or Best Bes st Actress,” celeb biographer her Ian n Halperin tells NW exclusively. usively y.

Meanwhile, it’s not the e first time Ange and Johnny, 54, have been at the centre of romance rumours.

As first reported by NW, the pair briefly dated last year following her split from Brad – but much to Johnny’s dismay, her break-up and the drama surrounding it was too fresh for the new relationship to go anywhere.

But now, a year down the line, she’s ready for them to give it a second shot.

As they say, timing is everything, Ange! n

‘Angelina idolised Johnny for years before she worked with him on The Tourist,’ a source revealed last year
