Kate’s up on weights!
Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton has never been a weights kind of girl – but that’s only because she wasn’t educated on just how dramatically strength training can change your body. But the model, 25, reluctantly gave it a go on her trainer Ben Bruno’s insistence, and nowadays, hip thrusts, sled pulls and deadlifts are an integral part of her workouts. “When I started training with him, he would say, ‘Let’s put 500 pounds on the sled’, and I would immediately say, ‘I can’t do that,’” she admits.
“Now my attitude has changed completely, and I’m always pushing myself to do more.”
And Kate, who regularly posts Instagram videos of her weight-training sessions, says that leaning more on the weights and less on the traditional forms of cardio has reshaped her body.
“To me, exercise is about working really hard in the gym to be healthy and feel good and confident about my body,” she says. “Weight training helps me do that the best. Lifting heavy weights leans you out if you do it the correct way.”
