Ross Bell’s roadster has now been a decade in the making, thanks to various setbacks along the way, but over the last few months Mark McAlpine at Alpine Panelbeaters has been doing his best to get the car completed. Included in that task has been plenty of panel finessing as well as the car’s point of difference: the custom sheet-metal roof. The custom hood is the work of Shrappy’s Originals, while the body is from Australian builder Rod Bods Down Under by Elvis. The previously fitted all-alloy 468 engine and Tremec five-speed are good to go, as are the previous suspension, braking, and chassis set-up. Mark Stokes from MS Vehicle Certification has recently sorted out the certification side of the build to the point at which the car is now ready for upholstery before returning to Alpine for paint. Then, all going well, Ross will finally be able to enjoy the car that he’s dreamed of driving for a decade.
