1936 FORD COUPE

-

It may not look like too much at the moment, but Jim’s ’36 Ford coupe is a very special vehicle. “That coupe was the first one [to be] roof chopped in New Zealand, in 1963. The first one done, ever,” Jim tells us. It was done by Dave Mischewski, who we’re told was a panel beater, and, even though time has taken its toll on the coupe, you can still see how well the roof chop was done. Jim bought it with the ’34 roadster, with both in pretty poor condition, and has started working to bring them both back to life. Jim also mentions that his son, Jason, is pretty keen to tuck into this one, so it sounds like it’s got a good future lined up in the Hanham family.
