Until their separation, Mel let her daughter Angel believe that Stephen was her biological father. The now-10-year-old’s father is actually actor Eddie Murphy. Mel put her children’s safetyy at risk with her addiction to cocaine and alcohol. Mel’s drug use has been witnessed by the family’s nanny, the children and Mel’s therapist, Dr Charles Sophy. Mel has taken the alcohol prevention drug Antabuse and Vivitrol, used to prevent relapse in opioid addicts and alcoholics. Stephen denies claims of domestic abuse. He states that he was able to ws see Madison (his six-year-old daughter with Mel) and Angel just two days before Mel’s temporary restraining g order request was made. Mel is also mum to Phoenix, 18, from a previous relationship. Mel’s temporary restraining order has prevented Stephen from responding to text messages from Angel. He fears it could harm Angel because Stephen is the only father she has ever known.
