New York Fashion Week has always been a top priority for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Attending the twiceyearly event was their way of showing the world that their marriage was solid. But this time around, the 40-year-old Yeezy designer was MIA. In fact, he’s been missing for months.

It’s been almost 70 days since Kanye was last photographed with Kim, 36. He’s been choosing instead to hide away in a secluded recording studio upstate or at the family mansion in Bel Air – alone. Now, many believe it isn’t a question of ‘if ’ the pair will divorce, but ‘when’.

Disinterested and disconnected from the woman he once gushed was a modern-day Marilyn Monroe, the troubled rapper ignored Kim on Mother’s Day and even on their May wedding anniversary after years of spoiling her with lavish gifts, like string orchestras and elaborate flower walls, hinting that their union has been in disarray for some time.

Even Kim admits that the man she once called her ‘best friend’ is more of a business advisor these days. ‘I usually go to Kanye for advice about my brand, my life, my image,’ she says. ‘If it’s other drama, I go to one of my best friends, Tracy [Nguyen Romulus]. She used to be Kanye’s publicist. I always get her opinion on everything.’

Once upon a time, Kanye’s point of view was paramount to Kim. But without him to guide her at Fashion Week, the rapper and designer’s former muse was savaged by critics, making the trip from LA to New York a lonely one.

Dumped by the man who once gushed, ‘Kim is like a fantasy, period. She’s like a dream girl’, and who confessed, ‘I was in love with her before I was ever able to talk with her’, Kim’s had to face her naysayers head on at NYFW. ‘Her fashion has been terrible lately,’ wrote one, while another sensed there was more going on behind her strange, revealing outfits. ‘What a mess of a woman.’

Back in LA, Kanye’s been spotted spending time with the couple’s daughter North, four, and miserably roaming Hollywood, a far cry from his days at the top of the fashion and music world.

And as the one-year anniversary of Kim’s Paris robbery approaches, he’s wondering when she’ll stop broadcasting the ins and outs of her traumatic ordeal. After all, Kanye suffered a mental breakdown and was hospitalised in the weeks that followed, but has kept his side of the story private. ‘Kanye is over it and acting dismissively toward his wife,’ an insider reveals. ‘He’s done listening to her complain nonstop. He has a big ego and ultimately, it’s always about him.’

The insider’s comments make news of the couple’s surrogacy all the more heartbreaking. With a baby girl due in January, Kim is now facing the very real and terrifying prospect of raising three kids under five alone. ‘Right now, things are very tough for their marriage,’ a friend reveals.

But Kim has a strong support base behind her in the form of her sisters and mother. ‘My family was so close growing up; now that I’m a mum, I understand the bond my mum and dad felt with us,’ she says.

And it’s that powerful legacy that she plans to pass down to her children as she moves forward without support from her husband.

‘I have such unconditional love for my kids,’ Kim adds. ‘No matter what [happens], I will always love them and support them.’

LAST PICS JULY 7 70 DAYS APART Kim told friends, ‘Kanye and I are like strangers.’ A close pal adds, ‘Kim feels like their relationship is more of a business relationship than a real marriage.’
