After rising to fame on reality TV in 2014, Sam Frost has lived her life in the public eye – and it has come at a price. The former Bachelorette revealed she suffers from anxiety attacks on Seven’s The Morning Show on October 8. ‘It’s just things like going to the gym. I can have a little freak out and burst into tears,’ she admits. ‘I don’t even know what is so scary about it, but I just get crippled with anxiety and I have to turn around and go home.’

The 29-year-old says she’s getting better at managing her anxiety with the help of her psychologist. ‘She helps me by putting tools in place to overcome those hurdles, and eventually get there in the end,’ tells the actress. She also credits her family and friends. ‘When I’m struggling, I can say [it] to them and they know how to support me.’

While she has been open about her struggles in the past, Sam encourages others in similar situations to lean on family and friends for assistance. ‘I can’t stress enough the importance of opening up and sharing how you feel with your loved ones. Going through things like that is so isolating and you feel like no-one else understands what you’re going through,’ she says. ‘But that’s why it’s so important to have that conversation out in the open. I think that’s so important and [in the past] I’ve also struggled with saying, “Hey, I’m not OK.”’ We applaud you, Sam!
