Laidley Swap Meet – a good one

Laidley Swap on the 29/30 October saw good weather during the day but it sure did pour down with heavy rain around 2 am or thereabouts on the Saturday. At least an inch and half, possibly more, but the day turned out OK. There was a good roll up of traders with some 230 or so there who, with the exception of one, are persons of good repute and could be trusted to do the right thing by buyers. Approximately 2,200 buyers, most of whom were present again on the Sunday when there was a Show and Shine with trophies awarded for the winners of various categories. The Lucky Gate prize, a 1950 350 G Model Royal Enfield, was won by a local club member Gary ‘Bluey” Henderson. This machine had been well restored by another club member Keith Shepherd.
