It’s official! World’s largest cruise ship is now sailing!
After 32 months of construction, Royal Caribbean International has launched the 25th ship in its fleet – and it’s also the world’s largest cruise ship! Harmony of the Seas is nearly four football fields long and was built with more than 500,000 individual parts. It’s so big, it has seven distinct neighbourhoods! Although she won’t be sailing Australian waters any time soon, Harmony will be treating guests to a whole bunch of 21st Century fun on Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries, and introducing them to groundbreaking at-sea features including The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea with a 10-storey plunge; three multi-storey waterslides; robot bartenders at The Bionic Bar, powered by Makr Shakr; virtual balconies with real-time views of the destination, and VOOM – the fastest internet at sea.
And, as we told you in our last issue, Ovation of the Seas, the $1 billion, biggest, newest and most technologically-advanced ship ever to call Australia home, will be here ready to sail at the end of 2016!
