Goul­burn River Na­tional Park

Where: Near Mudgee About: En­joy the for­est and river­side set­ting of this spec­tac­u­lar park with easy walk­ing trails and plenty of bird watch­ing ac­tion – and spot emus, east­ern grey kan­ga­roos, red-necked wal­la­bies and wom­bats. War­rum­bun­gle Na­tional Park

Where: Near Coon­abarabran About: Pop­u­lar for camp­ing, walk­ing, bird watch­ing and stargaz­ing, the ‘ War­rum­bun­gles’ of­fers abun­dant na­ture walks, pic­nic spots, look­outs, canyons and, for keen as­tronomers, a guided tour of Sid­ing Spring Ob­ser­va­tory, with breath­tak­ing 360 de­gree views from one of the high­est points of this beau­ti­ful moun­tain land­scape.
