HOCKEY

IT’S finals time and we have three teams who all finished second playing in finals.

Our division two women and division three men both narrowly missing out on finals finishing fifth.

The Newsxpress award for awesomeness has to go to the entire U14 girls team and their coach Lesley as they played the top team and won and progressed straight through to the grand final on Saturday, September 16.

The Brewery award for bravery must go to the coaches ( Rach, Ken, Libby and Steve) of the under 12 boys and division three women’s team who both went into extra time in both their finals but unfortunately couldn’t come away with a win.

The Indigo Real Estate award for effort goes to all the players in those two teams who left nothing out there on the pitch, gave it their all and played hockey in the true spirit of the game.

This Saturday sees the under 12 boys and division three women play again and have another chance to make it to the grand final.

Thanks to Goldfields Greengrocers again for the great halftime oranges.

The Hockey Club’s AGM is scheduled for Thursday, September 28 at 7pm at Baarmutha Park.
