Women’s shed hands nail it

BEECH­WORTH Women’s Shed held a stall at Beech­worth kiosk on Satur­day to raise money to es­tab­lish them­selves in the ‘Bunya Cen­tre’ – the for­mer ma­ter­nal and child health cen­tre in Ford Street.

The cen­tre has re­cently been leased by Indigo Shire Coun­cil to Indigo FM Ra­dio, Beech­worth Ur­ban Land­care and Sus­tain­abil­ity (BULS) and the Women’s Shed.

“We have been meet­ing twice a week in mem­ber’s homes so we are look­ing for­ward to mov­ing into the cen­tre,” said Faye Gil­bey.

“Our aim is to share learn­ing and ideas and to help the com­mu­nity in any way we can.

“Al­though we are a Women’s Shed we have had a lot of sup­port be­hind the scenes from many men some who have do­nated money and their skills by mak­ing metal and wooden art­works to sell, and we thank them very much.”
