Women’s shed hands nail it
BEECHWORTH Women’s Shed held a stall at Beechworth kiosk on Saturday to raise money to establish themselves in the ‘Bunya Centre’ – the former maternal and child health centre in Ford Street.
The centre has recently been leased by Indigo Shire Council to Indigo FM Radio, Beechworth Urban Landcare and Sustainability (BULS) and the Women’s Shed.
“We have been meeting twice a week in member’s homes so we are looking forward to moving into the centre,” said Faye Gilbey.
“Our aim is to share learning and ideas and to help the community in any way we can.
“Although we are a Women’s Shed we have had a lot of support behind the scenes from many men some who have donated money and their skills by making metal and wooden artworks to sell, and we thank them very much.”
