Youngsters help Savoy soccer win
BEECHWORTH and Stanley young players helped to secure the under 11 grand final cup for Myrtleford Savoy Soccer Club in the Albury Wodonga Football Association season highlight at Lavington last weekend.
Savoy and Wangaratta were nilall at the end of the match before extra time was called. Myrtleford won a penalty shoot-out 2-1.
The U11s played at Jelbart Park, capping off a competition season during which they travelled to Myrtleford every Tuesday for training by coach Rob Caponecchia.
Six of the players – four from Stanley and two from Beechworth – were regarded as a big component of the Myrtlefordbased team.
