It’s Indigo Power by name
THE community energy retailer has a name after hundreds of people from across the region voted to choose its name.
An overwhelming majority of people chose Indigo Power as the name of the new retailer.
“We are thrilled to announce that the community energy retailer will be known as Indigo Power – named after the beautiful native flowering plant Indigofera australis that blooms in valleys across North East Victoria,” Cam Klose Convenor of the Community Energy Network said.
Hundreds of people across the region voted on a shortlist of five names chosen by the regional community energy network.
“The retailer is going to be owned by the local community so it makes sense they helped name the retailer,” Mr Klose said.
“We hoping to launch the retailer in early 2019 and will have some exciting projects coming up over the rest of the year, partnering with local businesses.
“Indigo Power will be guided by the community – particularly through the regional community energy network – so if people are interested, please join their local community energy group or get in touch.”
Based in North East Victoria, Indigo Power will be a community owned and managed business, selling electricity to local customers. It will also allow households with solar (and a battery system) to trade electricity with one another.
It will: big power companies - holds.
