VEC in­for­ma­tion ses­sion for in­de­pen­dent can­di­dates

IN­DE­PEN­DENT can­di­date for the seat of Be­nam­bra, Jac­qui Hawkins at­tended an in­for­ma­tion ses­sion con­ducted by the Vic­to­rian Elec­toral Com­mis­sion in Mel­bourne on Sun­day.

Ms Hawkins joined other in­de­pen­dent can­di­dates from across the state to gain in­for­ma­tion about their roles in the up­com­ing state poll.

Elec­toral Com­mis­sioner War­wick Gately, said the gath­er­ing fa­mil­iarised can­di­dates with the key re­quire­ments and re­spon­si­bil­i­ties of nom­i­nat­ing for the State elec­tion’.

Nom­i­na­tions for the elec­tion open on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 5.

Prospec­tive in­de­pen­dent can­di­dates must lodge a cor­rectly com­pleted nom­i­na­tion form with their nom­i­na­tion fee by noon on Fri­day, Novem­ber 14.

Al­though nom­i­na­tions are yet to open Ms Hawkins is al­ready ramp­ing up her cam­paign­ing from her cam­paign of­fice the in­ter­sec­tion of Hume and Lawrence Street.

Mean­while Ms Hawkins and her team yel­low shirt vol­un­teers are con­tin­u­ing a door­knock­ing cam­paign in Wodonga, and will be at the Wodonga Chil­dren’s fair on Sun­day.
