LOADED Christie Lamb ABC/Universal

Already a Golden Guitar winner as well as being voted CMC New Oz Artist of the Year for 2015, Christie LambL b ticked ikd anotherh box when ABC Music signed her up last year. Loaded is her second full-length album. It’s a mix of well-chosen songs and originals, with Lamb co-writing seven of the 13 tracks, including the forthright ‘Party’s Over’. In fact, this is an album of hard-driving country rock songs with attitude, notably the take-noprisoners sound of ‘Flamethrower’ and the bad romance of ‘Bad Habit’. Lamb unleashes her strong vocals on the piano-backed power ballad ‘Judgement Day’ and there’s a subtle banjo intro to the forceful ‘Lonely Too Long’. Loaded is a classy album, chock full of harddriving music.
