IN THE modern history of Mack trucks in this country, there are two indisputable facts.
One, Mack has undergone a lifesaving cultural revolution since Volvo rescued the famous bulldog from the edge of extinction. And two, the resurgence of the iconic SuperLiner is the greatest success story of all Mack models.
Yet as Mack’s display at the Brisbane show highlighted, it is the Super-Liner’s ability to be many things to many people which today consistently makes it one of the most popular models in the range.
Pride of place, for instance, was given to a heavy-duty spec reflecting the model’s heritage as a road train and heavy haulage specialist. Right behind, however, was a slimline Super-Liner designed for 36-pallet B-double work. This is a dog which has walked the comeback trail better than most.
