Indie electronic duo Odesza, hailing from the US city of Seattle, gained quick popularity through their selfreleased debut album Summer’s Gone in 2012, but it was 2014’s In Return which attracted a wider audience, topping the Billboard dance/electronic charts. With its big production sound, third album A Moment Apart marks another step forward. The tracks feature a host of guest artists, including young Los Angeles singer-songwriter Naomi Wild who adds light pop vocals to the radio-friendly ‘Higher Ground’. Soul singer Leon Bridges adds his smooth sound to ‘Across The Room’. Slower still is ‘Just A Memory’ with songstress Regina Spektor adding vocals to the emotive ballad. Between the vocal tracks Odesza do their thing on atmospheric and mostly instrumental pieces.
