Together Pangea Nettwerk www.togetherpangea.com

Los Angeles-based quartet Together Pangea released three albums before this newie – Bulls And Roosters. It’s also their first for the Nettwerk Music Group. The music is gimmick-free, sticking to the guitar, bass and drums format. William Keegan’s slightly defiant vocals suit the band’s indierock sound, never overpowering the instrumentation. The songs are almost all quick tempo, including ‘Stare At The Sun’ which boasts a catchy melody, and the punkish ‘Better Find Out’. Together Pangea takes a breather on ‘Money On It’, one of the album’s best, while there’s a Californian surf scene influence to ‘The Cold’. The band eases off the pedal ever so slightly on ‘Is It Real?’ and winds up with the singalong style of ‘Alison’. At the least, Together Pangea is a great party band for the youth brigade.
