Cut a piece of vintage-style patterned paper measuring 12x12cm and distress the edges using either the edge of your scissors or a distressing tool.

Once you have distressed the edges, it’s time to ink them with a little of the Memento Dewdrop Desert Sand ink, as shown. A dauber tool will be helpful for this.

Cut a piece of the natural lace and hessian ribbon and wrap it carefully around your paper as shown above, fixing it in place at the back with some tape.

Cut around the printable blue paper, cut to the size you want and distress the edges using your scissors (or a distressing tool). Finish off by inking the edges in Desert Sand.

Carefully cut around one the larger birdcages from the printables. Distress and ink the edges and stick to the blue paper using either PVA glue or sticky foam pads.

Taking your time, neatly cut out a couple of swirls, two flowers, two butterflies, a ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment and a bird of your choice, as shown above.

Add the cut-out elements to your card as shown, and then stick some pearls to the top left and bottom right corners for a perfect finishing touch. Voilà! Your birdhouse card is complete.

Top tip Add dimension to the cut-out flowers by shaping them with a ball tool
