How to... Make a birdcage

Papercraft Inspirations - - PRINTABLES -

This delicate decoration isn’t tricky to make when you follow our simple step-by-step instructions… 1 Cut out the birdcage elements from the printed designs. You can change the length of the cage bars, if required, then punch some holes at the ends to bring the bars together using twine.

2 Thread the twine through one of the discs by punching a hole, and fix an eyelet in the middle, as shown.

3 Cut out one of the birds from your printables, plus a few flowers and butterflies – and put these to one side.

4 Fix a short length of twine to the bird for it to swing from and attach inside the cage at the top. Tie on more twine to the eyelet to create a hanging loop.

5 Die-cut leaves and stick them to the bars of the birdcage, as shown. Add the cut-out flowers and butterflies around the cage. Finally, add a sprinkling of paper flowers from your stash for pretty detail.
