Does it make a difference if you use coloured embossing powder and clear ink or clear embossing powder and coloured ink? To be honest, not noticeably! It just depends on what you have in your stash. For a very slight colour, mix a little coloured powder with clear powder, stamp, emboss, then ink over the top as a resist technique. Even if I’ve left a stamped sentiment to dry for a full day, it still smudges if I ink over it. Can you help? It’s likely that it’s to do with the type of ink, rather than how long it’s been drying for. For colouring or inking over a stamped image, use archival ink, such as Versamark. How can I get my clear stamps to stay on an acrylic block? For extra reassurance, try the Non-slip grip from Stix2. Cut it to fityour block, and it will hold stamps in place for inking, stamping and cleaning.
