PCPOWERPLAY

Well ain’t this fun?

- David Hollingworth

Remember last issue, when I said it felt like the first couple of months of 2020 felt really and unusually long? Well, boy-howdy did I not know what was coming around the corner!

This issue of PCPowerPlay was produced almost completely during the COVID-19 lockdown, with everyone in the office working remotely from home. For obvious reasons, it’s a pretty disrupting and distressing time. But, on the upside, it means I can sneak in a little gaming during the work day and no one will ever know! Shh, don’t tell anyone...

It’s also a handy time for some gentle nostalgia, so I hope this issue’s walk down memory lane tickles your fancy as much as it did mine. I can remember watching on avidly as a friend downloaded Doom on a screaming, old-fashioned modem back in the day, and now we’ve even got a whole new Doom to get to grips with

- and that’s reviewed this issue as well!

And, of course, we’re looking ahead with our usual selection of previews, including the next mammoth expansion for World of Warcraft.

At least we all have a lot of time for the upcoming grind...

The Shadowlands pose a threat to our existence, to life, and what life means...
