The Federal Government last week announced the establishment of a Cities Reference Group to help advise on cities policy.
“It will be a valuable source of expertise and insight for the Government as we continue to deliver on the Smart Cities Plan,” Mr Taylor said. “Our cities agenda is all about positioning our cities to be the best they can be in the future.”
The Smart Cities Plan, released last year, sets out a vision for Australia’s cities based on smart investment, policy and technology
Penrith Council has said the city is ‘well positioned to pilot the Federal Government’s Smart Cities Plan’. Last year Council said the north-to-south rail connection across Western Sydney was vital for productivity and realising the region’s potential.
