The View Club (Voice, In­ter­ests and Ed­u­ca­tion of Women) will hold their Din­ner Meet­ing at Pan­thers Pen­rith on May 15. Ar­rive 7pm for 7.30pm. The evening fea­tures a three­course meal. Cost: $28. Book­ings es­sen­tial. Speaker is a re­tired po­lice of­fi­cer who will speak of his ex­pe­ri­ences in the Po­lice Force. Women of VIEW sup­port dis­ad­van­taged Aus­tralian chil­dren through the Smith Fam­ily’s Learn­ing for Life pro­gramme. New mem­bers and vis­i­tors warmly wel­comed. My Choice Mat­ters will be run­ning a work­shop for peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties, their fam­i­lies and car­ers in Spring­wood on Tues­day May 2. The work­shop will fo­cus on how to get the most out of life and the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity In­sur­ance Scheme. The ses­sion will be fa­cil­i­tated by Mel Sch­laeger. My Choice Mat­ters is an in­de­pen­dent or­gan­i­sa­tion work­ing with peo­ple with a dis­abil­ity. The work­shop runs 10am-2.30pm, at Spring­wood Sports Club, 83 Mac­quarie Rd, Spring­wood. One day work­shop pre­sented by Margie Braun­stein, a se­nior fa­cil­i­ta­tor with the Quest for Life Foun­da­tion. The work­shop is tai­lored to peo­ple liv­ing with can­cer and their car­ers and will in­vite par­tic­i­pants to ex­plore the im­por­tance of self-care while learn­ing prac­ti­cal strate­gies for cre­at­ing re­silience and peace in the face of liv­ing with can­cer.
