Vaux­hall have been in con­tact with Zafira own­ers across Bri­tain af­ter over 100 own­ers have re­ported over­heat­ing prob­lems which have re­sulted in fires! The is­sue ap­pears to af­fect com­po­nents be­hind the glove­box and is be­lieved to be caused by the heat­ing and ven­ti­la­tion sys­tem. Vaux­hall have writ­ten to 220,ooo own­ers and have re­leased a state­ment which in­cludes – “The safety of our cus­tomers is the num­ber one pri­or­ity. Our in­ves­ti­ga­tions have found that a num­ber of in­ci­dents have occurred due to pre­vi­ous re­pairs be­ing per­formed im­prop­erly or us­ing cer­tain non­gen­uine parts.”

The is­sue ap­pears to af­fect the Zafira B and all cars so far af­fected have been right-hand drive, built be­tween 2005 and 2014 and cru­cially fit­ted with man­ual air-con­di­tion­ing, as op­posed to the elec­tronic cli­mate con­trol.
