HEROES RETURN

LotuS caRLton owneRS head to hetheL FoR FactoRy touR

Performance Vauxhall - - NEWSFEED -

A tour of any manufacturer’s car making facility is something to look forward to, let alone when you’re heading to Hethel in the company of more Lotus Carltons than have been seen at the Norfolk plant since production of the model ended a quarter of a century ago.

It was the guys and girls of respected rear-wheel drive Vauxhall and Opel owners club, Autobahnstormers, that organised the trip. The sun was out and the stage was set for an Imperial Green invasion of the Lotus factory. A photo opportunity on the firm’s famous test track was also arranged, with the twenty Type 104s present positioned in what looked like a menacing attack formation. Well, we are talking about an army of Lotus Carltons!

A walk around the factory followed, with particular attention paid to the production process that goes into assembling a powerful sports car. If you like the idea of owning a Lotus-badged Vauxhall of your own, then turn to page 94 and have a read of our Lotus Carlton buyer’s guide. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll find yourself with the keys to a Hethel hero of your own at some point in the not-too-distant future!

Is this your idea of automotive heaven? of course it is!
