VBOA NATIONAL RALLY UPDATE
‘BILLING’ WILL BE AT MARKET HARBOROUGH SHOWGROUND...
Following on from last issue’s update regarding the ongoing difficulties the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association (VBOA) has experienced in finding a new home for its National Rally (after the decision by managers at Billing Aquadrome to cancel all car shows at their popular Northamptonshire holiday park), we’re pleased to be able to report that the 2017 VBOA National Rally will take place at the brand new Market Harborough Showground across the weekend of 8th and 9th July. We can’t wait!
The new venue is based within a mile of the East Midlands town of Market Harborough, and we’re told that its first VBOA gathering will feature a large autojumble with dealers from the UK and overseas. Of course, there will also be the welcome mix of pre-war to modern-day Griffins that we’ve come to expect from the popular static show, as well as fast food stalls, a children’s activity area, and the much hyped ‘Chairman’s Cup’ competition.
Entry for day visitors is capped at a tenner per vehicle for up to four people, with additional bodies required to pay a fiver each. Kids under five years of age qualify for free entry. For those that misbehave, the local prison also offers free entry (and an extended stay).
As has been the case with Billing-based shows, camping will be allowed at Market Harborough Showground. All the details can be found at the VBOA website: www.vboa.org.uk
